TIMELINE

《TIMELINE》は、カメラという機械の基本構造を再設計し、視覚の構成原理そのものに介入する試みである。私は写真を、単に現実を記録するメディアではなく、「見る」という行為自体を問い直す装置と捉える。そしてその装置を、自らの手で分解し、再構築することから制作を始める。

本作では、視覚がとらえる「瞬間」を分解し、知覚の時間軸にズレを生じさせる。映し出されるイメージは、被写体の動きや時間の流れを一枚のフレームに圧縮することで、「見る」という行為の連続性や構築性を可視化する。

このプロセスは、私たちが無意識に信じている視覚や記録の前提を問い直す行為でもある。見ることが一方向的で均質な経験ではなく、常にズレやゆらぎを孕んだ構造であることを示唆している。

タイトルの《TIMELINE》は、SNSなどに代表される現在の情報環境と、視覚における選択的・連続的な知覚の流れを重ね合わせたものである。そこには、断片化され再構築される「見るという体験」そのものが投影されてい

TIMELINE is an attempt to intervene in the very foundations of visual perception by redesigning the basic structure of the camera as a machine. I regard photography not merely as a medium for recording reality, but as a device for questioning the act of seeing itself. My process begins by deconstructing this device with my own hands, and rebuilding it anew.

This work disassembles the “moment” captured by vision and introduces a subtle disjunction into the timeline of perception. The resulting images compress movement and temporal progression into a single frame, thereby rendering visible the continuity and constructed nature of how we see.

Through this process, I quietly challenge the assumptions that underpin our visual trust and habits of recording. Seeing is not a linear, uniform experience—it is always accompanied by dislocation, distortion, and ambiguity.

The title TIMELINE references not only social media feeds and the structure of contemporary information environments, but also the way in which visual perception unfolds selectively and sequentially. It reflects the fragmented, reassembled nature of the act of seeing itself.
